Procedural Programming Learning C# Programming

Question: Examine about the Report on Procedural Programming? Answer: Testing the procedural programming arrangement In this testing, the analyzer examines the programming with different testing approachs and furthermore distinguish the blunders in the programming. Here the analyzer utilizes three kinds of testing alpha test, beta testing, and acknowledgment testing (Khan, Sadi, and Sirshar, 2015). Thusly, it starts with; the analyzer portrays what the crucial point of view of these three testing. Alpha testing, this testing performs by the product designer to perceive the irregularities in the task or if any issue (Batool et al. 2015). In this application, the product engineer tests this and encounters various issues, nonetheless, the truth of the issue is that the designer sifted through these abberations and completed all requirements. The underlying periods of testing Figure 1: Testing steps (Source: Created By creator) The product engineers are checking the necessities of this application and distinguish the genuine consequence of the application. In the alpha testing the software engineer test every unit of the program that are run effectively. In this programming, the software engineer client numerous worldwide or nearby factors to take the contribution from the clients, accordingly, the client doesn't think about the variable they might be put a whole number an incentive to a string variable (Thuneman et al. 2015). The arrangement handles the exemption while the program is taking the info prom the client. Thusly, the developer utilizes checking this program quickly and passes it to the following degree of testing beta testing. Figure 2: Alpha testing (Source: Created By creator) Beta testing, in this testing systems the testing state starts with a gathering of programming testing architects to investigation the disparities in this programming. Here the task runs successfully and finds some data sort mix-ups and hardly any blunder in getting information from the client brief. Affirmation testing performs by the end customers to perceive that their require objectives are met successfully (Jordan et al. 2015). Here the analyzer dismembered all necessities and found nothing that was not actualized in the application according to the proper examination. Distinguish the inconsistencies between the real outcome and the current outcome The analyzer delineates and show the assessment between own point of view with the designer programming application. In the beneath figure 3, the product engineer shows that it was the run of the mill yield, so there are no more anomalies found in the menu segment. For this circumstance concentrate as delineate, the menu needs to keep up a progression these groupings are perfectly executed in this application (Smith, 2015). At first, the menu shows that elective one for the enlistment, decision two is a numerical inclination test, the third decision is critical thinking test, decision four for the assistance and the last decision way out for leave the undertaking. The beneath figure 3, show the login menu choice. Figure 3: Menu choice (Source: Created by creator) Here the developer doesn't make reference to the cosmic system school name in the highest point of the alternative that is the primary issue. Here the software engineer needs to include each module or code hinder, that is a piece of the cosmic system school. The mean should resemble an intelligent to the client, here the client when to attempt to go into the numerical test with no enlistment, the software engineer should give the fitting message to the client that they should enroll them self from the start (Malik, 2015). Here the software engineer set a message that the developer requests that the clients put down the extraordinary id, on the off chance that a few understudies visit first time, at that point they are don't have the foggiest idea about the standard of this application. Along these lines, the software engineer must set up rationale for returning to the menu again and check the outcome, yet it stand out from this current outcome, the analyzer discover exemption blunder s. In the login segment, the client secret phrase must be in shrouded character, yet here the software engineer envisions this in plain content. The developer must take the contributions to as character individually and print quickly in the reassure where the client put down the secret phrase. Here the developer accepts this as a string and contrasts and it the database where the client name and secret word are spared (Ali, 2015). In the enrollment procedure the developer requires the clients first name, last name, age, sexual orientation and class then an irregular number generator creates a number as a special Id, which is accessible only for once. Figure 4: Registration issue (Source: made by creator) Here the software engineer takes this contribution from the reassure port yet in the sexual orientation area, the developer utilizes a string variable that can step through all kind of exam. For instance, in the event that the client gives 0XX, at that point nobody can confirm this client (Malik, 2015). Presently the analyzer thinks there must be a checking area where the program watches that must be male or female. This issue is appear in figure 4 and figures 4.1. Figure 4.1: Unhandled special case (Source: made by creator) The suggestion of the methodology programming arrangement At the principal period of the progressive method, the principle targets consolidated into the straight programming model are the primary need goals, and the simplex framework is associated in the ordinary way (Nainggolan et al. 2014). If the ensuing perfect course of action is intriguing, the customers get it rapidly without thinking about any additional destinations. This scientific fitness test is adequate for checking the numerical aptitude capacity of the youths. The originator picks C# as a making device for this application. Thusly, there are hardly any progressions to make this application progressively suitable. For this condition, if this application is made in the on the web or jFrame than a support base application. Figure 5: 3-Tire application (Source: Created by creator) The online application is more reasonable than support application in light of the fact that in the web this application looks increasingly reasonable and progressively reasonable for childrens. In the event that, there is any development for make, if this application is using as three tire applications, for instance, java swing, MVC or PHP than it will be a progressively appealing interface and increasingly powerful (Unger, 2014). The analyzer recognize that propositions application likewise causes the youth to upgrade their scientific aptitude by this application. Subsequently, this application should look progressively appealing in light of the fact that the adolescent must have an enthusiasm for this application. Here the analyzer suggested that this framework might be better on the off chance that it is actualized in the PHP, JFrame, java swing, and so on. Subsequently, if this application works in a 3-level engineering, than the layer is Client Layer, Application Layer, and Database Layer. In this application, customer doesn't perceive any sort of parts that is creating results they see just the Graphical UI and the information (Kumar, 2013). Here the fundamental structure of the 3-level application is appeared in figure 5. Presently please the point what are the advantages of 3-Tire application, for example, better re-use, improve information trustworthiness, reasoning of the dispersion, more grounded se curity, its upgrade the accessibility and the structure makes progressively secure for database structures. For this situation, this three-level application is inactive for this application since this structure can deal with all exemptions and gives a solid database security. The screen that helps in PC program This program intended with the end goal of measure the numerical capacity of the youths. At that point it computes the complete outcome for this numerical test. The youths are can sign in to this framework utilizing their username and secret key (Rathore and Gupta, 2011). The program should show the on-screen prompts that take the username and secret phrase and store in the memory. The program likewise shows the information on the screen that acclimate the client enter effectively or not. Here in the beneath figure, 6 shows that how this interface functions. Figure 6: Login Option (Source: Created by creator) Figure 7: The menu alternative (Source: Created by creator) In the above figure 7, the software engineer set an intelligent menu where the clients can pick their choices. At the underlying level the client, have three alternatives in dynamic state enlistment, help, and exit. In the event that the clients pick the main choice enrollment and the program show require alternatives for register them (Nourjou and Hatayama, 2014). After enrollment, they have a remarkable ID, which naturally produced by the framework itself. This is appeared in figure 8. Figure 8: Generation of Unique ID (Source: Created by creator) From that point onward, the program approaches the client that for Taking Numerical ability test or exit from the application. On the off chance that the client picks the choice two than the program, goes to the numerical aptitude test area and pose the inquiry individually (Okita, 2014). This procedure is appeared in the beneath figure 9 and 10. In the numerical segment the program, approach the client to press enter for a beginning the numerical expertise test. Figure 9: Externs for numerical expertise test (Source: Created by creator) Figure 10: Numerical expertise test (Source: Created by creator) As indicated by the situation the program, adhere to the standard that the client needs to acquire 80 percent imprint to breeze through the numerical murder assessment and in the critical thinking test the client need to get 6o percent (Gaddis, 2014). On the off chance that any client doesn't go in the first round, at that point this client dismissed. Here this program creates an outcome for every understudy and store it in the database. The help and upkeep of a PC program The Programming bolster characterized as any modification made on an item system after its movement. Any item structure reflects the world inside which it works, when the world changes, the item need to change appropriately. Programming building has been trying a very long time to improve the demonstration of programming progression and backing (Morgan, 2015). Conservatism-Liberalism-Socialism Essays - Political Ideologies

Conservatism-Liberalism-Socialism Essays - Political Ideologies Conservatism-Liberalism-Socialism Conservatism, progressivism and communism can be called philosophies, as they comprise extensive allowance of faith based expectations and perspectives about social and financial organizations and procedures (Lawson, 44). These three belief systems, which have been created from the beginning of time, share the two similitudes and contrasts. Conservatism, in contrast to progressivism, by and large contradicts radical changes in social and monetary space. As the word meant, the aggregated information on the past and its application to political and financial capacities is smarter to be preserved. Practically all agents of the hypothesis of conservatism put incredible accentuation on the intelligence of ages, which normally prompted the development of customary qualities and customs. Any social investigation by government was seen as a danger for the custom of the country which was the fundamental factor adding to the conservation of social soundness and, thusly, of national turn of events. Change was to be acknowledged just in the event that it happened at a progressive and reliable pace. The perspective on human instinct as indicated by conservatism isn't libertarian, as in certain individuals, put in the public eye, are more able than others to add to its turn of events and they are the ones to be set in places of power . People must guide their conduct as per customary good gauges, set by practical establishments, for example, Church. For instance, the expanding political intensity of the Catholic Church, just as of different strict gatherings in the U.S., proposes a territory where institutional bases for conventional conservatism might be advancing (gift, 11). Conservatism summons solid sentiments of nationalism, since help for the built up foundations are enormously advanced and every individual serves his/her nation with consistency and steadfastness. This energy prompts an expanded trust to in the military powers in instances of outer danger, instead of in discretion. The liberal, presently, perspective on human instinct is exceptionally libertarian and can be emphatically diverged from that of the traditionalist, since it proposes a raised point of view of people and decreases the significance of the social unit. Human rights and freedoms establish a political need. Political frameworks must add to singular satisfaction and their job must be confined. In a liberal society, the individual is a sound being and, as indicated by old style financial experts, soundness is communicated in a materialistic way. That is the reasonable designation of vitality with an end goal to amplify benefit. This is the financial man in a liberal society. The political man is the person who settles on basic decisions while partaking in equitable methodology. Progressivism has commonly been related to majority rules system and the perfect government ought to be pluralistic and not paternalistic. The basic guideline of progressivism is singular opportunity, which must be extended and served in all degrees of life, political and monetary. Another philosophy that denoted the verifiable stream of thought is communism. Communism is a profoundly libertarian philosophy, which, in contrast to radicalism, weights on people characteristic friendliness that involves incredible reduction of participation among individuals and not forceful rivalry. Sadly, communists guarantee that human misuse by different people has its underlying foundations to built up structures of control and this is likewise the explanation behind the presence of destitution. In this manner, communism, conversely with conservatism, is basic to the current structures and foundations and advances change. The favored mean of successful change is insurgency. In a communist system, the job of the administration is to guarantee reasonable dispersion of riches and to render the methods for creation mutual, by methods for broadening the open space. In the event that the land and the production lines are claimed by the state, and the laborers control the state, eve ryone will have similar chances and monetary quality, communisms most significant worth will be accomplished. Destitution will be wiped out along these lines and the case of numerous communists, that their philosophy developed out of monitor for taking care of neediness issues, will be confirmed. Despite the fact that, the distinctions to be found among these three philosophies are various, there are a few likenesses among progressivism and conservatism, which through the methodology of the belief system of laissez-reasonable conservatism, or, in all likelihood old style radicalism, consolidated their powers to confront the threat of communism socialism.

The Meaning of August

The Meaning of August What does August mean to you? For me it used to mean that school was starting, summer was over all kinds of depressing things like that. This time around, summer is over and school is starting (although not for a little while longer), but its not depressing, because Im taking classes that I want to take, classes that I find interesting. August is exciting, because Im moving back into my dorm. And most importantly, friends that I havent seen in 3 months are coming back to campus. This is what August means to me right now, and its kind of weird, because Im not used to August being exciting. This, I think, is the point where I break to throw in the stereotypical self-introduction. Hi! Im Evan. Im in the Class of 2010 (which makes me a sophomore), and Im Course VI (i.e. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science). Specifically, Im VI-2 (i.e. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as opposed to just one or the other). Most of my waking life is spent in front of a computer, an electronics bench, or a Guitar Hero controller. Im pretty much the stereotypical MIT Course Sixer. I live in Burton-Conner, along with way too many other people. Unlike most of those people, though, I live on Conner 4, not Conner 2. And yeahtheres my intro. Back to the other interesting stuff now. The one unfortunate part of August is packing and moving. Although all of the dorms at MIT remain open for summer residents, my floor was closed down, so I decided that I wanted to experience living at East Campus, so I moved to Tetazoo, home of yet another blogger. I had a good time, but Im pretty ready to move back. Actually, Im really excited because my room is no longer Institute Off-White (yes, thats a designated color around here). Different dorms have different rules about painting, but at Burton-Conner its pretty easy: you tell the Housemanager that you want to paint and he always says yes. Then at the end of the year, you have to convince the person moving into your room that they like the coloror paint the room back to Institute Off-White. Even though the approval process is easy, the painting process isnt so great. I spent most of the summer unsure of if I wanted to bother painting or not. But I decided about a week ago to go ahead and do it. My decision process went something like this: (sitting around with some friends) Me: Should I paint my room? Megan 08: Yeah, you should. It makes it feel more awesome. Me: MehI dont knowits a lot of work for a room Ill have for 8 months Megan 08: Here have my awesome tools that make painting really easy. So I ended up painting my room. I made two trips to Home Depot (conveniently located a block away from a Red Line stop on the T), took down anything on the walls that would come off easily, took a day off of work (Im UROPing at the Media Lab, but more on that some other time), made another trip to Home Depot (for the stuff I forgot), and then painted my room (its now Athenian Green with Windsor Haze accents check them out on Behrs website if you really want to know). Im not quite done yet there are still some areas that need to be touched up, and I need to figure out how Im going to paint on top of the elephant and armadillo which is what we call the dressers. Im pretty sure I need to climb on top to get to everything, but I feel like getting down will be really challenging, especially when Im surrounded by wet paint. (Heres a picture of an elephant and an armadillo, but theyre not from my current room:) But Im done enough that I can start thinking about the rest of the moving process. Im starting to pack up my stuff, and this weekend some friends and I are going to split the cost of a Zipcar, move my stuff back to Burton-Conner, and then go to IKEA, Costco, Target, and just generally stock up on stuff we need for the beginning of the school year. Oh one more thing that you guys should know before I go. NO FIRST POSTS! Seriously Ill delete them myself if I see them. Go find a lifeor something productive to say. Ill be following this up with some various entries on what I do for fun, money, and class credit, but as always, feel free to leave questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, and ideas of what youd like to hear more about.

Ethical and Social Responsibility Issues - 1100 Words

Ethical and Social Responsibility Issues (Essay Sample) Content: Business managementNameInstitution Introduction Ethics and social responsibilities are obligations that aim at fostering responsibility to concerned stakeholders within an organization. Among the most affected by these obligations are managers, leaders or employees. These individuals are obliged to various responsibilities that include; protecting the organizational resources, improving the organizational environment, maximizing organizations profit and producing efficient and effective employees (Kazmi, 2012). This paper will discuss current ethical and social responsibility issues in the workplace by highlighting three common issues. More so, the paper will discuss ethical and social issues faced by retail store employees of BestBuy electronics in terms of duping consumers as per the managers orders or stop the scams. The paper looks at the affected parties of the ethical and social responsibility issue, the cause of the issue, ethical dilemmas involved; the conseq uences and then appropriate recommendation that the employees who execute the scams should opt for.Ethical dilemmas and social responsibilitiesEthics are beliefs, values and principles that define the right from the wrong. Organizations are governed by ethics that oblige them to do right or adhere to the organizations values. On the other hand, social responsibility is referred to as the obligation or the responsibility of managers to act responsibly in protecting and improving the welfare of the society and at the same time protecting their own interest (Kazmi, 2012). This means that managers should not only strategize on maximizing the organizations profit; but also protect the organizational resources, adhere to moral obligations, produce efficient and effective employees, improve the organizational environment among other responsibilities.Current ethical and social responsibility issues in the workplaceThere are many ethical and responsibility issues that affect both small and m ulti-national organizations. Among the main issues witnessed in workplaces is poor management of the companys workforce that mainly includes unfair dismissal and underpayments. This aspect is fostered by poor human resource management that includes poor leadership and lack of motivation. Many of the companies affected by this issue have been highlighted by the media and it includes Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart was under scrutiny for paying and promoting employees based on gender status, where male were favored over the female employees (Hines, 2012). Another common ethical and social responsibility issue in the work place is misleading advertisement. These advertisements are executed by the marketing personnel with an aim of wooing the consumers, yet such discounts do not exist. Tesco was affected by such an issue when the retail store advertised a reduced price of a product from  £ 4.99 to  £ 4.50 for a period of 21 days. According to insights, the product had been selling at  £ 4.00 before and during the promotion period, and the shocking part is that the product sold at the same price during the advertised period. This means that the advertisement was misleading because Tesco had not conducted or changed any price variations of the product and the advert was probably meant to remind customers of the companys presence in the market or probably depict how the company was consumer conscious by lowering the price. Another culprit is Nestle, which was scrutinized by the media for price fixing in 2009 (Nieburg, 2014). Insights argued that Nestle colluded with other companies to raise chocolate prices; thus, destroying competition within the industry, and financially oppressing the consumers by granting them no alternative but to settle for the high prices of chocolate candy. Another ethical and social responsibility in the work place today is accounting fraud, where companies are accused of overstating their profits. This case affected Tesco again in 2014 when it overstated its first-half profits by  £ 263 million (Anderson, 2014). Though none of Tescos officials commented on the issue, analysts argue that the overstatement of figures was triggered by the companys struggle in terms of sales and that the move was to paint a fake possession of competitive market share.Ethical issueThe ethical issues in the case is that the customer service representatives in vast retail stores are obliged to act on the best interest of the company (making profits) or contend with the consumers. The ethical dilemma The ethical dilemma faced by the employees of BestBuy is that they should stop the scam by not wooing consumers to subscribe to MSN, AOL, NetZero when they buy accessories of the company or continue with the scam so as to abide by the managers orders. Therefore, whether or not they should carry on with the subscription scam is the ethical dilemma in question.ConsequencesBoth the alternatives in the case have consequences. For instance, proceeding w ith the scam of duping loyal consumers huge sum of money by wooing them to subscribe or by swiping their credit cards is affecting their conscience. On the other hand, if they fail to carry on with the managers orders mean that they will loose their jobs. Therefore, any alternative by the employees expose them to either psychological torture or economic crisis. More so, exposing the scam will tarnish the image of the company and could attract legal action from relevant bodies that govern businesses. The company will loose large sums of money because the consumers will no longer buy the goods offered by the company. The consumers will also be affected psychologically because they will loose trust on many other similar companies that offer the same goods and services.Re...

Literary Analysis Of Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown

Kathryn Smith Professor Karen Dodson English 1101 7 July 2017 Symbolism in â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and was set during the 17th Century Puritan Era. The story was published in 1835 during the Romantic Era. Nathaniel Hawthorne was known for being the master of symbolism. His novels and short stories have been embedded with suggestion and imagination. The dense symbolism that Hawthorne writes could imply multiple interpretations. â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† has quite a few themes and symbols within itself. Faith, Young Goodman Brown, the forest, the old man, the pink ribbons, and the staff are all symbols in the short story. Faith is Goodman Brown’s young wife, and a symbol†¦show more content†¦He is a young, good man. He symbolizes the innocence of young Christian men who are often tempted and naà ¯ve. Goodman leaves his wife, Faith, who also symbolizes his faith in God, and goes on a journey in the forest where he is confronted by the old man, who symbolizes the devil. Young Goodman Brown is shocked when he hears stories of his father and grandfather, and when he sees with the minister and Deacon Gookin with his own eyes. He realizes even the most Christian men in his life had been tempted by the devil at some point in their lives. Once Goodman became aware of his wife also being involved in the devil’s scheme, he decides to do the same. He loses his faith in God. He loses his innocence because of is incoherent corruptibility. This was bound to happen whether this was all a dream or not. If it was all a dream, this is all coming from Goodman’s head, implying he has a deep, dark side. Either way, his loss of innocence was certain. The forest represents evil and darkness. From the moment Goodman enters the woods, he is apprehensive about what will happen. â€Å"’There may be a devilish Indian behind every tree,’ said Goodman Brown to himself; and he glanced fearfully behind him as he added, ‘What if the devil himself should be at my very elbow’† (Hawthorne n. pag.)! Common Threads in George Orwells 1984 and Todays...

Common Threads in George Orwells 1984 and Todays Society Big Brother is Watching You(Orwell 5). This simple phrase has become the cornerstone of the conspiracy theorists dialog. George Orwell may have writing a cautionary novel with 1984, but there is little possibility that he could have foreseen how close to reality his novel would truly become. In the past 50 years, the world has become a much more dangerous place. Along with this danger has come a call for governments to do more to protect their citizens. This Protection has changed over the years, but it has become more and more invasive in order to protect the populations from various threats. Orwell introduces the reader to a future where the government monitors†¦show more content†¦There is no explicit protection of what we do on the Internet or any data or information we view, share, or use. Of course, the FBI, CIA, NSA and HSA are not continually monitoring every citizen, but in Orwells 1984, the Thought Police were not always watching their Telescreens either. Orwells eerie foresight only continues when Winston notices a Police Patrol helicopter darting from window to window, looking into peoples windows. This type of surveillance in clearly illegal today, and would be noticed immediately, but in the last 50 years, satellites and unmanned drone aircraft have taken over the fictional role of the Police Patrols. Public satellites that are 10 to 15 years old currently can produce digital images with 1-meter resolution. Military satellites can supposedly produce images with 10-centimeter resolution, meaning that `Big Brother could theoretically follow you from your house to your work to a restaurant and home again without you even knowing you were being watched. This type of surveillance is most likely being used mostly overseas, and not on Americans, but its mere existence should be a clear signal to us that our age has not avoided the surveillance pitfalls of 1984. One very disturbing aspect of 1984 is the Spies. Why Marijuana Should Be Decriminalized Free Essays

Connor Biro – 2577567 English 102 Price 4/5/13 Why Marijuana Should Be Decriminalized in the U. S. â€Å"Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the most therapeutically active substances known to man† (qtd. We will write a custom essay sample on Why Marijuana Should Be Decriminalized or any similar topic only for you Order Now in Rosenthal and Kubby 49). The DEA’s Administrative Law Judge, Francis L. Young, stated this in the matter of Marijuana Medical Rescheduling Petition, in 1988 when attempting to list marijuana as a Schedule II drug (Keene 93). Marijuana, or â€Å"weed,† is made from the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant cannabis sativa. In 1937, cannabis was made illegal with the passage of the Marijuana Tax Act. Since it was criminalized, billions of dollars have been spent in marijuana –related incarcerations. Marijuana consumption should be decriminalized in the United States for both medical and recreational use because it could prove medically, economically, and socially beneficial for the nation. The first reason marijuana should decriminalized in the United States is for its medicinal value. Marijuana can be used to treat an assortment of diseases and disorders, and also helps in pain relief. Patients suffering from glaucoma, an ocular disease where the eye is subject to increased pressure that damages the optic nerve, eventually leading to blindness, can be treated with marijuana to help reduce the pressure on the eye (Keene 92). For individuals suffering from epilepsy, a brain disorder in which an individual may has repeated seizures over time, marijuana can potentially prevent seizures at a very affordable price (Rosenthal and Kubby 50). Marijuana also helps relieve the side effects of chemotherapy, which include loss of appetite and nausea (Keene 91). Finally, marijuana helps individuals suffering from chronic pain caused by diseases such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and cancer (Rosenthal and Kubby 50). Although, it appears that marijuana should be available at every pharmacy, behind every counter, after reading about its medicinal properties, it is not. The second reason marijuana should be decriminalized in the U. S. is because it can improve our nation economically. So far marijuana has been legalized in 14 states, for medical use only. If marijuana were to be legalized more jobs would be reated, more money would be made in advertising businesses, and a significant amount of tax revenue made (Bradford). By comparing the taxes of liquor and cigarettes, it is concluded that the government could make about seven billion dollars a year in revenue just from state licenses, taxes and fees (Rosenthal and Kubby 26). Marijuana does not only provide medical uses, but industrial uses as well. Hemp, the nonpsychoactive sister of marijuana, is a very unique plant that has many useful qualities. Hemp has the longest fiber in the plant kingdom and is also known for its very strong and durable characteristics (Rosenthal and Kubby 28). The industrial applications that hemp can be used for include insulation, textiles, clothing, paper and most importantly, rope (Rosenthal and Kubby 28). In ancient China (around 8000 or 7000 B. C. ), archaeologists have found proof that hemp was a main crop for thousands of years, originally used as fabric, then eventually the Chinese found other uses like using the hemp fibers for rope and paper, and even mixing it with other grains as a food source (Keene 29). If marijuana were to be legalized, the manufacturers could export products such as the ones previously mentioned. As long as marijuana remains an illegal import, there is no way for the government to regulate its sale as well (Rosenthal and Kubby 75). The final reason marijuana should be decriminalized in the U. S. is because it can prove to be socially beneficial to the nation. Marijuana is listed as a Schedule I drug, along with heroin, LSD, and PCP, meaning the government believes it has a high potential for abuse, there is no current medical use in treatment in the U. S. , and that there is no acceptable use even under medical supervision (Rosenthal and Kubby). Millions of arrests and thousands of people are thrown in jail for marijuana charges, ranging from minor offenses, such as paraphernalia, to major offenses like illegally importing marijuana into the U. S. Police officers shouldn’t be wasting their time arresting youths with minor offenses like marijuana possession. If marijuana was decriminalized, teenagers arrested with minor charges related to marijuana would not have their lives ruined with marijuana-related crimes on their record (Rosenthal and Kubby 81-82). Another reason the nation’s society would be improved is by removing the young adults from the marijuana business. These young entrepreneurs succumb to the fast, easy money involved in dealing marijuana and ruin their chances of having a bright future. Marijuana should be decriminalized so the nation can benefit medically, socially, and economically. Legalizing marijuana just seems like the most logical thing to do, especially when the nation’s government is in such a tremendous amount of debt. It is presently legal to own and smoke small amounts of marijuana in Colorado and Washington. Over 65 million Americans use marijuana either occasionally or regularly (Rosenthal and Kubby IX). So why waste millions of dollars on the criminalization of marijuana charges, and lose the opportunity to make money off of this highly used plant? Citations Keene, Ann. Events and Operations ABC London

Question: You have applied for a position of Events Manager/Organiser in ABC London Events Co.They are considering organising an event indoors or an open one outdoors (of your choice). The company asked you to provide a report in a format of a manualincluding key operational issues and risks that could be faced in these two venues. You should propose the best option to the events company in your conclusion. Answer: Introduction Events form an integral part of our routine lives with different levels, magnitude and type of event occurring in the neighborhood. Event management companies take up the responsibility of managing the event (indoor and outdoor) and apply business concepts in the theories of event planning. Use of some practical strategies is suggested to put the plans into action in an operationally refined manner (Getz, 1997). ABC London Events being a reputed firm is planning to organize two events indoor and outdoor at some specific locations and this report would dwell deeper into the event management operations and strategies to come up with creative event management plan (Yolum, 2002) of these two events including all the related aspects of the events. The Outdoor Event: A Sponsored Run There are some limited number of spaces available in Royal Park to conduct small scaled events in the space like a family picnic, a guided walk, a community sports, a concert, art events, recital events (Knemeyer, 2009). This is an outdoor spot available for small events. In some other gardens, large scale outdoor events can be arranged scaling to Olympic Games, music concerts and sports events. The event that would be organized in the Royal Park for the charity would be a sponsored run of a few hundreds of people to promote for a charity purpose. This run would be organized as a circular track and would include all the requirements of the run including medical support. This event is for the social cause of healthy lifestyle and for the refined physical, mental and social well being. These charity runs attract more number of participants including fund raisers, sponsors, volunteers, and non runners who wish to run for a social and charitable cause (Field, 2012) by giving their valuable contribution towards the society. These events are specifically associated with a basic theme of action and the participants comply with the theme to bring out the true essence of the charitable cause. The Indoor Event: Lunch for Business Proposal In the indoor campus, the Chelsea Old Town Hall can provide refined services for holding of special small scaled indoor events like parties, discussions, business meetings, business proposals, marketing events etc. The event organized at Chelsea Old Town Hall will be a business proposal for contributing to a charitable non government organization raised by that event. This business proposal can be very well arranged in the form of a lunch discussing a business proposal aimed at raising funds for charitable trust. The general requirements for the Chelsea Old Town Hall is that the hall is only available from 8am till midnight but the alcohol can be consumed only between 11 am to 11 pm. The constraint over music is that it must be closed by 11 pm for everyday and for every event. There is no AC facility but availability of standing fans so alternative facilities should be used for special occasions. The marketing of this event would be the responsibility of the event organizer. The sound system is only suitable for the public speaking activities (Field, 2012) but not for the music concerts. Attributes of the audience The audience in the event of sponsored run are of various age groups ranging from children to teenagers, from adults to aged people. The income does not matter for the choice of people that can participate in the charitable run and neither does the nationality matters. Anybody can participate in the sponsored run and can contribute for the charitable reasons. The participants of event at Chelsea Old Town Hall would be businessmen and elites that would discuss a business proposal that would be to raise funds and arrange sponsors for the charitable cause. Licenses and permissions required For the purpose of a sponsored run, it is required to have access to some of the licenses and permissions before starting up of the event. These licenses are required to ensure a healthy environment for the run and also ensure safety (Yeoman, 2004) of the participants. Some laws and licenses are issued for protecting the health of the sportsmen and voluntary runners and also prevent them from consumption of illicit drugs which curb the sportsman spirit (Earl, 2005) of the sponsored run. The participants require to present the proof of the fitness level which should comply with the minimum medical requirements set for the run. This proof should be in the form of a medical certificate issued by legal and authorized doctor following some specific and set medical examinations. The certificates pertaining to health and safety of the food items or water provided during the run should be obtained before starting of the run. The sponsors must obtain fitness certificate for the water served t o the participants and volunteer supporters (Jones, 2006). Permits should be taken from the local government that permits the type of charitable race. The company has to provide insurance coverage of the event to get the permit when this coverage would protect the company for putting the event. For the business proposal lunch, it is required to have a certificate for the liquor served at the Old Town Hall and the quality of liquor should be checked (Jackson, 2010). For the music too, there should be permission taken from the venue hosting internal events. The businessmen participating must have their identity cards with fool proof security checks before entering into the venue. Risk management and mitigation There are various risks associated with the event of charitable run which must be efficiently managed and mitigated by the team organizing it making it the responsibility of the event handlers to work attentively and responsibly for the potential accidents (Crawford, 1990) that might happen at the site of the event. However, Royal Park has all the safety and security arrangement done but the event managers need to cater to the requirements of the safety of the participants. There must be crowd controlling barricades that can separate the participants from the general volunteers and crowd. If case of any medical emergency like collapse, dehydration or fainting of the persons, a medical practitioner must be arranged and they must be present at some distances during the whole track. Proper aid stations should be made having appropriate arrangements of medicines and hydrating agents. There must be arrangement of emergency hydrating agents and drinks to revive and rejuvenate the runners a nd other participants. Another risk can be a human stampede that might occur due to illogical and rude behavior of the crowd. This risk should be managed with the help of volunteers that might control the over excited crowd and mitigate this potential risk. Finding of the sponsors is also another challenging task for planning the event of sponsored run. This would be a challenge for the organization as a huge amount would be required to ensure health and safety of the volunteers and participants. The risks associated with the indoor event of business proposal lunch can limit to organizational level risks including some unrest at the lunch, conflict among the attendees or can extend up to the risks of disruption in the venue including light system, LCD screen malfunctioning, or sound defect. Health and Safety in Event Planning Event planning includes ensuring the health and safety of the employees, volunteers, staff, participants, audience and other related persons. The health and safety for the participants of the sponsored run going for a charitable cause should be monitored closely and carefully. Public restroom must be created within the venue for ensuring health of the environment. The participants should be provided with continuous supply of water or more of an electrolyte drink for sustain and maintain their energy level. A high protein chocolate bar can be offered to keep the run healthy. Participants must be checked for any of the conspicuous material carried out by them during the run and use of cell phones or any related device must be prohibited. Medical considerations (Tum, 2006) must be thoroughly checked and people with proper approvals should only be allowed to go for the charitable run. For ensuring the health and safety of the indoor operational event, the quality of catering and hygiene of the place must be thoroughly checked. Electronic scanner machines can be arranged by the event planning company to ensure a complete safety of the lunch guests. There should be provisions for fire control at the venue. Strategic Event Management The event management team has a pivotal role to play before, during and after the event. They must initiate their strategic operations right from the approach of the company which wants to hold that event. The role of event management company is to take over the task completely over then and ensure that the event goes smoothly. The company must put forth a strategic plan for the charitable run in which the sponsor would be the company holding the event and collection of funds and money raised by the run would be collected the team members of event management team. The plan should include a rough draft of the budget of the run (Clausen, 2001) and also the equipment or special operations required during the run. The event management team must come up with innovative event marketing strategies and must focus over social networking sites to attract more number of participants leading to a better charitable donation and a social cause. The event marketing can be done by distribution of pa mphlets in the newspapers surrounding the event region. Online registration application can be arranged from the side of event management to promote the cause of the event. Strategies should be employed for arranging the required material for the run. The team must ensure a safe collection of funds for a charitable cause (Narasimhan, 2009) and should execute post event plans. The security of the sponsored run is the responsibility of the company and hence there must be officials at reasonable gaps during the entire track of the run taking care of the participants. The volunteers may also look into the security matters of the run. Police agencies must be informed about the run and a security van can be arranged for the day of the event. Security must include the search procedures imbibed in the process to check all the participants before entering the venue or the Old Town Hall to ensure a smooth functioning of the event. Team work is the key to successful integration of all the operational and strategic tasks in the project. Team work should be modularized giving them specific roles and responsibilities prior to the event, during the event and post the event. There must be arrangements made for the emergency situation handling taking the contribution form the police department. Some cases of conflict management can be handled by the team internal to the event management company and there must be a team leader appointed to look into the conflicting tasks and acting as a disturbance handler (Heizer, 2004). In the Town Hall, there must be provisions of fire alarms an emergency alarms which must be checked prior to the event. Therefore, the whole event must be a part of ethical conducting with efficient planning and effective implementation of the planned strategies and techniques (Van der Wagen, 2010). Event Marketing Marketing of the events is also one of the core tasks of the team which must be focused upon by the management and marketing team of the company. Event management is primarily made for the outdoor events requiring a large group of people as participants. The potential volunteers and sponsors should also be arranged for the purpose of financing the event. For this task, event marketing is essential and a prime task for the team to undertake carefully. The event marketing for the sponsored run should be taken up at a huge level (Gupta, 2006) including viral marketing on social networking websites. Social media should be thoroughly used for marketing purposes of the charitable event. This must call of the aesthetic part of the event and hence must be able to attract more number of volunteers and participants for the event (Ivanov, 2010). This marketing can extend up to advertisements given on famous websites and may also use digital print media for the purpose of spreading awareness. For the indoor event, since it is a personal event of some professional business elites, it is just required to spread the information about the event to the concerned participants and make them aware about the sufficient required information about the event. Therefore, even the marketing strategies differ with the type, magnitude, scale, and venue (Voss, 2002) of the event. Event Business Proposal The event management must have strategic business proposal in order to comply with the requirements of all the events indoor or outdoor. The business proposal must have inclusion of all the stakeholders connected with the project and event proposal. These stakeholders must plan everything well in advance to ensure a smooth functioning (Legato, 2001) of the event and include strategic approaches for monitoring, measuring and meeting up the requirements and demands of the event. This business proposal should be a written contract between the event organizing party and the event planning company. This contract should include the venue specifying the internal details of the venue, the date of the event, the time of the event, the duration of the event, and some other basic knowledge about the event (Berlonghi, 1995). It should also include the requirements pertaining to arrangements made in the event. For example, for the outdoor event at Royal Park being a sponsored run there are requir ements of water, electrolytic drinks, food, registrations lips, portable toilets etc. For the internal event being a business proposal meeting and a lunch, the requirements limit to catering, seating arrangement, display options etc. This business proposal must be like the requirement specification document serving as a proof of the project contract. Supply Chain Management at Events The event management company can ensure the companies who have placed the order to automate the monitoring system of the events organized may it be an outdoor event being a sponsored marathon or run or may it be an indoor events organized as a business lunch for putting up a proposal. The companies can get real time alerts and some pinged notifications from the event management team that can further allow them to take proactive, adaptive or corrective actions (Stadtler, 2005) suiting up the demands and situations of the event organized. The inventory control, turns, productivity, output and cycle time of the event can be efficiently managed by the company with the help of the event management company. The end result of such an efficient supply chain maintained with the event management company as an intermediary improves the overall consumer satisfaction and the supply chain management with human intervention (Allen, 2008) noting every real time operations occurring during the event. The schedules and milestones features of the supply chain management allow the company to trace the event systematically on a specific date and time of the event. Exception alerts notify the multiple parties and participants vie the means of emails and event user interfaces whenever delay or discrepancies occurs in the delay routine. The suppliers of the requirement of the event ensures the fulfillment activities to execute in accordance with the event management. Carriers and transporters ensure the pickup of the special guests and the requirement materials required for the event and deliver them to the venue on the required time. Participants ensure that they reach the venue on time and be prepared and aware about the events and complete the inventory details (Stadtler, 2000). Some of the main business processes handled by the supply chain management intrigued in event management are monitoring, simulation, control, notification and measurement. Softwares can also be used to keep the track of all the schedules of the events and also measure the milestones in terms of achievable things. Some applications too are developed for supply chain management to manage distributed events. Waste management at events It is the responsibility of the event management companies to comply with the waste management after the events. Waste management is essential to ensure a successful completion of the event and this responsibility is leveraged with the event management team. For the outdoor event of the sponsored run, the whole track and the park should be cleaned up after the event disposing every waste generated out of it. Similar holds for the indoor event and the cleaning of the hall after the lunch. Conclusion The scenario of event management for outdoor and indoor events vary to a great level and require specific and detailed solutions for managing the events. The outdoor event requires inclusion of field work and a complete supply chain management with a widespread marketing requirements (Stadtler, 2008). In contrast, the indoor event requires just small arrangements with reporting to the participants and arranging of monitoring strategies. The event management company must employ creative strategies to take over the operational, technical and management tasks. Recommendations The event management company must incorporate techniques for sustainable event management including all the aspects relating to corporate social responsibility (Allen, 2000). There can be efficient use of software and technology for real time event notifications and to update the whole team without any much human intervention. The event management company must segregate each of the task to each of the sub team and control the tasks in a modular manner. A lot of the focus must be laid upon coherent integration of the business plans, operational methodologies, strategic techniques (Stadtler, 2000) and key issues related with the event management purpose. The development plan of the event management cycle should be well presented after a thorough discussion with the whole team coming up with the practical experiences blended into theoretical proposals giving creative solutions. Alternate solutions for event management can be extensive use of technology and applications that will monitor the whole event in real time. Though there would be high use of technology but that would make the process more advanced and innovative matching up (Jameson, 2002) with the contemporary world. Thus, simulations can be efficiently monitored and managed by the use of applications and supply chain management softwares provided in the market. References 1. Getz, D. (1997). The Hound of the Baskervilles Women of the 18th Century Essay Example For Students

The Hound of the Baskervilles Women of the 18th Century Essay The Hound of the Baskervilles is the tale of a mythical beast which is said to haunt the Baskerville family. The story centers around Dr. Watson, who is sent out by Sherlock Holmes to the Baskerville manor to uncover clues. Throughout the story, Arthur Conan Doyle depicts the dominant male figure of the 18th century, in which evil and wicked men were able to manipulate women. They were often used as tools to assist in their evil ploys or for sex, and were treated poorly and unequally. At the opening of this novel we meet Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes, whom has an unexpected visitor by the name of Dr. Mortimer, who introduces the detectives to a puzzling mystery of Baskerville Hall. Apparently Sir Charles Baskerville, owner of the Baskerville home, has recently died and left behind a manuscript. It tells of his father, Sir Hugo Baskerville, who had supposedly fallen in love with the daughter of a yeoman. Yet she was not interested in him, so Hugo along with a few of his wretched companions, kidnapped and placed her in the upper chamber of his house. When she escaped, Hugo swore that that very night would render his body and soul to the Powers of Evil if he might overtake the wench. therefore showing the extreme disrespect of men towards women. We will write a custom essay on The Hound of the Baskervilles Women of the 18th Century specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now As the story progresses, we meet Stapleton, an avid butterfly collector and seemingly cheerful man, who resides near the moor along with his beautiful sister. We later learn that he is actually a direct heir of the Baskerville Manor, as his appearance is strikingly similar to that of Sir Hugo Baskervilles. He is really a wolf in sheeps clothing, seemingly harmless, but actually evil and bloodthirsty, stopping at nothing to achieve his goal of claiming the Baskerville fortune. In an attempt to murder Sir Charles, Stapleton pretends to be a single, lonely man, falling in love with Mrs. Laura Lyons, a friend of Sir Charles. He therefore acquires complete influence over Lyons, who is at his beck and call, and therefore lures out Sir Charles to be killed by an enormous hound, although this was completely unknown to Lyons, showing that men were seemingly hiding things from women. After this had been discovered, Sherlock Holmes and Watson set out to kill the hound that was to be released upon Sir Henry Baskerville. They were able to kill the beast and then set out to the Stapleton home in an attempt to find Stapleton. They did not find Stapleton, but instead they were amazed at what they found instead. It was Stapletons sister, tied up to a pole in the middle of the room and bound with cloth. Dr. Watson depicts mens savagery and brutality towards woman in which As her beautiful head fell upon her chest I saw the clear read weal of whiplash across her neck She explains how she is actually Stapletons wife and had been used for Stapletons evil deeds. We can see this in which she says But now I know that in this also I have been his dupe and tool where she has been used and abused. Throughout this story, not all men are as manipulative or lustful towards women as Stapleton or Sir Hugo Baskerville, but similarly men did not fully respect or treat women as their equals. Women of the eighteen-century were expected to be housewives, having no social status unless she was married to a man. They did not have rights and were many of the time a mans personal tools, whether it was sexual desire or as an alternate route to gain the things in which he wanted. Throughout The Hound of the Baskervilles Conan Doyle has managed to depict that many women were treated poorly and unfairly by men.
